Description
Swede-ish salad
Ingredients
- 2 swedes, peeled and cut into 1.5cm cubes
- 220g bacon, chopped into 1.5cm cubes
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 0.666667 cup cider vinegar
- 0.666667 cup water
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoon flour
- ½ teaspoon celery seeds
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Boil the swede cubes for approx 12 minutes, until cooked. Set aside.
- Fry the bacon in the olive oil until crisp. Take the bacon out of the oil and set aside.
- Fry the chopped onion in the oil until soft. Mix together flour, sugar, salt, celery seed, and pepper; blend into onion and fat over low heat.
- Boil one minute.
- Add vinegar and water to mix well.
- Pour over swede cubes and stir in bacon. Serve warm.
