Description
Ginger, Tofu, Pork, Pak Choi Ankake Donburi style - served over rice
Ingredients
- 3 pak choi
- 4 tablespoon sesame oil
- 40g sliced ginger
- 500g minced pork
- 400g diced tofu
- 4 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 tablespoon mirin
- 4 tablespoon sake or white wine
- 2 tablespoon honey or soft brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- pinch of corn starch
- 100ml water
Instructions
- Put sesame oil in a pan over low heat, and add sliced ginger
- Once ginger is starting to cook, turn heat to medium-high and add minced pork
- When pork is cooked thorugh, add tofu
- Combine in a small bowl soy sauce, mirin, sake or white wine, honey or brown sugar and salt to create a sauce. Mix well. Pour sauce into pan and cook for three minutes on high heat
- Add water to the pan and lay pak choi on top of tofu/pork mixture. Cover pan with a lid for three minutes to steam the pak choi
- Just before serving, add corn starch around edge of the pan and gently mix in
- Serve with grated ginger and finish with sesame oil on top. Shichimi Japanese Seven Spice is also a great topping or chill oil. Serve over rice to make it Donburi style.
