How much produce is in each bag?

We have four sizes of veg bag and base our portion size on the standard 5 a day guidelines.

  • In the standard bag for each veg, we provide 4 portions that are part of a balanced meal. For example, carrots for 4 people in one meal or this could be carrots for 1 person for 4 meals.
  • In the small bag for each veg, we provide 2 portions that are part of a balanced meal. For example, carrots for 2 people in one meal or this could be carrots for 1 person for 2 meals. 

Please note that depending on your consumption levels of veg and what you are cooking, the portions size you use will differ! We aim to give you the above as a guideline. Details for each veg bag are below:

Standard - This bag contains a selection of 8 to 9 varieties of seasonal produce from:

  • Approx. 1kg potatoes, 500g onions and 500g carrots
  • 2 leafy green veg e.g. salad, spinach, chard, savoy cabbage
  • 3 – 4 other seasonal roots or veg e.g. courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, cucumbers

Standard no potatoes - This bag contains a selection of 8 to 9 varieties of seasonal produce from:

  • Approx. 500g onions and 500g carrots
  • 2 leafy green veg e.g. salad, spinach, chard, savoy cabbage
  • 4 – 5 other seasonal roots or veg e.g. courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, cucumbers

Small - this bag contains a selection of 6 varieties of seasonal produce from:

  • Approx. 500g potatoes, plus 300g carrots or onions (alternating weeks)
  • 1 – 2 leafy green veg e.g. salad, spinach, chard, savoy cabbage
  • 1 – 2 other seasonal veg e.g. courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, cucumbers

Small no potatoes - this bag contains a selection of 6 varieties of seasonal produce from:

  • Approx. 300g carrots or onions (alternating weeks)
  • 2 leafy green veg e.g. salad, spinach, chard, savoy cabbage
  • 2 – 3 other seasonal veg e.g. courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, cucumbers
  • 1 other seasonal root veg
