What fruit and veg can I expect to find in my Christmas fruit & veg bag?
You’ll find all you need for your Christmas meal – Roasting potatoes, Red cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Onions, Parsnips, Mushroom and other seasonal treats. The small bags will be a smaller quantity and no mushrooms.The fruit bag will have Apples, pears and some treats as well.
What sizes are the bags?
Over the Christmas period (20th December 2018 -2nd Jan 2019) If you are a small bag customer you will receive a small bag to the value of two weeks and if you are a standard bag customer you will receive a standard bag to the value of two weeks. If you want to change the size of your bag from small to a standard or vice a versa during this timeframe then please register your change via your online account or email by 13th December.
Can I order a one-off fruit bag?
Yes, you can- after all Christmas is not all cheese, wine and chocolates! Please register your change via your online account or email by 13th December 2018.
Can I order an additional bag as a gift?
Yes, you can order an extra bag for a friend or family member or gift to the local Foodbank. You will have the choice of adding a small or standard to your order. Please contact the office by 13th December 2018. If you would like to gift to a friend, we will need their email address and their chosen collection point.
What colour is my bag?
There will two bag options on 20th December
- Yellow bags – Small and Small no potato customers
- Blue bags – Standard and Standard no potato customers
- Fruit bag will remain in Brown bags as usual.
Please note the bags will be quite heavy and includes items made of glass.
I would like to suspend my bag as I am away over Christmas, what are my options?
- Gift your bag to the Foodbank – please email.
- Register a suspension via your online account -Please note suspensions need to be registered by midnight 13th December 2018.
Will there be a bag on 27th December?
No, the last bag of 2018 is ready for collection on 20th December 2018.
Will I be charged for a bag on 27th December?
If you are receiving a bag on 20th then yes, you will automatically be charged for the 27th December. You will receive a bumper bag to cover the 2 weeks.
When can I collect my bag?
Usual times apply to most venues, however, please look at the exceptions to the venues below:
- The Peckham Pelican Closed from evening of Thursday 13th Dec 2018 through to Thursday 3rd Jan 2019, we will use the Keg space to store bags for the 20th December, a padlock code will be shared nearer the time and the keg storage unit is found to the left of the Peckham Pelican entrance.
- The White Horse Closed from the Sunday 23rd to Wednesday 26th of December.
- Harbour Cycles Closing the shop on Friday 21st December @ 6:30pm. Re-opening on Thursday, January 3rd at 8:30am.
- Brixton Pound closes Saturday 22nd Dec and we'll be open again from 7th January. All deliveries for the 3rd of January will got to The Hootananny Pub
Where can I collect?
Normal collection point unless you wish to change. This year for the first time you can collect directly from Local Greens. Come to Arch, 1169, The Bath Factory Estate, SE24 9AJ. Pick up your bag, have a chat and some refreshments. Please email if you would like to collect from the Arch on 20th Dec, we will be ready from 3pm and close at 6.30pm.
I am a fortnightly customer, what will happen to my collection during this time?
Local Greens will be contacting all fortnightly customers to see if you would like a bag on the 20th December 2018, if so, you will be charged for the 20th and 27th Dec. If not no charge to your account will be made. Your on off weeks will continue as normal as before Christmas.
What happens if I need to suspend after 13th December?
You will still be charged so please ask a friend or family member to collect your bag so it is not wasted alternatively please contact us and we can arrange for your bag to go to the foodbank.
I have already been charged for 20th December and 27th December, but I would like to register a suspension?
If you register a suspension on your account before the 13th December, the money will stay in your account and will be taken off next month’s charge.
Why can’t I see the 27th as an option to suspend?
If you have suspended on the 20th December then the 27th is automatically applied, if you have not registered a suspension then you will charged for 20th December and 27th December 2018.
What happens if there is a problem with my Christmas delivery?
You can contact us up until closing time at your collection point on Friday 21st December via 07808651665 and we will try to sort out any issues.
Will I be able to make any changes to my order between 22nd December until 30th December?
You can make changes through your online account but we will not be monitoring emails during this time.
